Watchwise llc. ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how WatchWise (the "App") collects, uses, and discloses information.

By using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide

We do not require you to create an account, log in, or provide your name, email address, or phone number to use WatchWise.

B. Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, we may collect certain information automatically, including:

  • Search Queries: The movie, TV show, or book titles you search for are sent to third-party databases (The Movie Database and Google Books) to fetch results.

  • Usage Data: Information about how you use the app (e.g., which buttons you click, genre preferences selected locally) is processed on your device.

  • Device Information: We may collect data such as your device model, operating system version, and general location (country/region) to provide the correct regional streaming availability.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information strictly to provide the App's core functionality:

  • To display movies, TV shows, and audiobooks relevant to your search.

  • To provide deep links to third-party streaming services (e.g., Netflix, Hulu, Audible) installed on your device.

  • To filter content based on your region (e.g., showing US-specific streaming providers).

  • To maintain your "History" list locally on your device.

3. Data Storage and Retention

  • Local Storage: Your "Recently Viewed" history and "Family Mode" preferences are stored locally on your device. We do not transmit this history to any external server.

  • No Cloud Storage: We do not maintain a backend server that stores your personal user data.

4. Third-Party Services and Links

WatchWise acts as a search and discovery tool. The App contains links to third-party websites and applications (such as YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Audible, etc.).

Once you leave our App by clicking a link (e.g., "Get App" or "Watch on Netflix"), this Privacy Policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.

We utilize the following APIs to provide data:

5. Family Mode and Children’s Privacy

WatchWise includes a "Family Mode" designed to filter content for general audiences.

  • We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under the age of 13.

  • The App does not track children's behavior for behavioral advertising purposes.

  • If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

6. Your Data Rights

Depending on your location (e.g., GDPR in Europe, CCPA in California), you may have rights regarding your data. Since WatchWise does not store personal user data on our servers, most "Right to Delete" or "Right to Access" requests can be fulfilled simply by:

  1. Clearing your App Data/Cache in your phone settings.

  2. Uninstalling the App.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
